Animated background generator

Pick a moving background and it plays as a loop whose last frame runs straight back into the first. Set the length and the speed, then render a video.

Open the loop editor

It opens on Interference, moving. Each picture below is its loop's first frame; the editor plays it.

Loops

Each picture is the first frame of its loop. Open it and the editor plays the loop.

How the loops close

Every movement in a loop is a whole number of turns of one clock, so when the clock comes round, everything is back where it started. Check the loop, in the export panel, plays the last second running into the first before you render, so you see the join first.

Export an MP4 or a WebM up to 2560 pixels on the long side, or an animated GIF or a PNG sequence. A loop can run from half a second to 20 seconds; Motion sets it. The frames include Story and Reel (9:16) and Pin (2:3), with guides for where a platform's buttons sit.

There are moving patterns (waves, mazes, pulses), liquid metal, tunnels, fractal flames and optical illusions that seem to move by themselves. An MP4 can carry a quiet piano bed, cut to the loop's length so it repeats cleanly.

For a website, the embed code puts the live animation in an iframe. It all runs in your browser tab, with no account.
